I’m going to tell a story about death and rebirth that will hopefully bring encouragement to others. We all go through this cycle in our lives, and thanks be to God Who is able able to bring us through them!
A small but well-established congregation experienced some problems. They had established a mission congregation and one day, the pastor decided to suspend regular worship at the original congregation. After the pastor resigned, the congregation was re-opened. Over a period of several years, it grew until it became a vibrant, healthy congregation once again.
Many would have said this church was dead, it was finished, end of story. But God still had plans for it, and God brought them to pass. It really seems as though God is in the business of bringing life back to the dead!
Have you been at a dead end for some time? Perhaps it’s time for God to bring life back into your situation once again. Christ truly is victorious over sin and death, so let’s trust Him to breathe life back into us.
