Interesting New Building for ChristChurch Cathedral

The earthquake that hit ChristChurch, New Zealand, killed 181 people and did considerable damage to the Cathedral. The rebuilding process is likely to take a long time. However, Shigeru Ban, a Japanese architect, has proposed the possibility of a temporary structure that has a cardboard base.

If this option is chosen, it’s thought that it would take about three months for the temporary building to be completed. It will seat about 700 people, and have minimal environmental impact.

what are your thoughts on this possibility?
