Tuesday Prayer Requests (Commemoration of Harry Thacker Burleigh)

Prayers are from the 1979 Book of Common Prayer

In peace, let us pray to the Lord, saying, “Lord, have mercy”
(or “Kyrie eleison”).

For the holy Church of God, that it may be filled with truth and love, and be found without fault at the day of your coming, we pray to you, O Lord.

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for Gombe (Jos, Nigeria) and the Rt. Revd. Henry Ndukuba

For Katherine our Presiding Bishop, for Scott our own Bishop(s), for all bishops and other ministers, and for all the holy people of God, we pray to you, O Lord.

We pray for Pastor Peter.

For all who fear God and believe in you, Lord Christ, that our divisions may cease, and that all may be one as you and the Father are one, we pray to you, O Lord.

We pray for our friends in Christ in the Old Catholic Church of America

For the mission of the Church, that in faithful witness it may preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth, we pray to you, O Lord.

For those who do not yet believe, and for those who have lost their faith,  that they may receive the light of the Gospel, we pray to you, O Lord.

We especially pray for Gina, who may not truly know Christ, and has serious health issues.

For the peace of the world, that a spirit of respect and forbearance may grow among nations and peoples, we pray to you, O Lord.

We pray for the people of Cameroon.

For those in positions of public trust, that they may serve justice, and promote the dignity and freedom of every person, we pray to you, O Lord.

For a blessing upon all human labor, and for the right use of the riches of creation, that the world may be freed from poverty, famine, and disaster, we pray to you, O Lord.

We especially pray for an end to terrorism and other forms of hate.

For the poor, the persecuted, the sick, and all who suffer; for refugees, prisoners, and all who are in danger; that they may be relieved and protected, we pray to you, O Lord.

Pray for Gervase, a Tanzanian pastor in need of airline tickets for ministry work.

Cathy asks prayer for her horse Penny’s health and for her daughter Becky’s direction.

For this congregation [for those who are present, and for those who are absent], that we may be delivered from hardness of heart, and show forth your glory in all that we do, we pray to you, O Lord.

For our enemies and those who wish us harm, and for all whom we have injured or offended, we pray to you, O Lord.

For ourselves; for the forgiveness of our sins, and for the grace of the Holy Spirit to amend our lives, we pray to you, O Lord.

For all who have commended themselves to our prayers; for our families, friends, and neighbors; that being freed from anxiety, they may live in joy, peace, and health, we pray to you, O Lord.

Please pray for Joyce, who is recovering from the effects of drug abuse.

Gloria is in very bad shape and has 2 young kids, please pray for her healing.

Stella has had a heart attack, and part of her colon is dead, please pray.

Sven had a stroke, please pray for his healing.

Michelle asks prayer for Shane, Taevon, Rufus, Trayvon, and Sean, who act up in class. she also needs prayer for healing from allergy and ashthma troubles.

Beverly is struggling with depression, pray for her comfort.

Please continue to pray for Gary as he struggles with leg circulation.

John has internal bleeding, with poor vitals, please pray.

Pray for Alan’s healing from heart trouble.

Jan and Jasmine are feeling better, let’s give thanks!

Pray for Patty’s successful kidney surgery and for a place for affordable rent for her.

Steve has recovered from lung cancer surgery complications and is home, let’s give thanks!

Judy and her BIL both have serious sinus issues, please pray.

Hayden has strep, please pray for his healing.

For all who have died in the communion of your Church, and those whose faith is known to you alone, that, with all the saints, they may have rest in that place where there is no pain or grief, but life eternal, we pray to you, O Lord.

We especially remember of victims of the 9/11 attacks.

Rejoicing in the fellowship of the ever-blessed Virgin Mary, Harry Thacker Burleigh and all the saints, let us commend ourselves, and one another, and all our life to Christ our God. To you, O Lord our God.

O God, the King of saints, we praise and glorify your holy Name for all your servants who have finished their course in your faith and fear: for the blessed Virgin Mary; for the holy patriarchs, prophets, apostles, and martyrs; and for all your other righteous servants, known to us and unknown; and we pray that, encouraged by their examples, aided by their prayers, and strengthened by their fellowship, we also may be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; through the merits of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
