God’s Faithfulness

Even though I usually structure devotional writing around more than a single verse, Isaiah 14:24 really stood out for me when I was re-reading it recently. The message from God to God’s people is so simple that it can easily ellude us.

God is faithful, even when we aren’t. In fact, it often seems like God is more faithful at the times we need the divine mercy the most. It’s not that we can keep willingly doing things wrong and be blessed for it – it’s that God is always there to pull us back up.

The last several years in my life have been full of different challenges. Many of them have seemed staggering at the time. The one thing they’ve all had in common? They’ve made me more fully aware of God’s mercy. There aren’t any easy answers to life’s problems, no matter what anybody says. But, the grace of God can and will get you through them.
