Remember – It’s a Season!

Advent is now upon us. Lights and other decorations are up in many homes, the stores are getting crowded, and holiday music and movies are hitting the airwaves.

It can seem like everything from Thanksgiving til New Year’s runs together in one big blur. In the retail world, that’s very much the case. There, everything has to be five steps ahead.

However, there are two easy things to keep in mind:

1. Christmas is a season

2. We’re still in the season BEFORE Christmas

It can be easy to forget that the 12 Days of Christmas start on Christmas itself and last through January 6th, the Epiphany. (Commonly known as Little Christmas, Old Christmas or Three Kings’ Day in some areas). Since we still have the season of Advent to mentally and spiritually prepare ourselves to celebrate the Incarnation, why not make the most of it?
