Working Together

For a lot of people this year, the whole Christmas season was rather bittersweet. Personally, I’m glad to see the Church year moving on to Epiphany this year. This is a season that maybe doesn’t get the attention it deserves, but is no less important.

During Epiphany, the Church celebrates events in the Bible where Jesus reveals God’s glory to the Gentiles. This is also a time when a lot of preaching focuses on the calling of the different apostles.

There is so much emphasis on doing God’s work during the holiday season that I think we can easily lose sight of doing so the rest of the year. I really don’t know if it’s burnout from being involved in so much or if it’s just that the Good News is on people’s minds more during Christmas.

Epiphany can be a good time to evaluate where we are as individuals or as a group. After all, there is a whole world of people who need to hear the Gospel message. Let us do what we can to work together as Christ’s body.
