Thursday Prayer Requests

Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down
from heaven to be the true bread which gives life to the world:
Evermore give us this bread, that he may live in us, and we in
him; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one
God, now and for ever. (1979 Book of Common Prayer)

Let us pray to the Lord, who is slow to anger and rich in mercy.

During this Lenten time of prayer, fasting and self-examination, let us pray that the Church may be strengthened for its mission to those who need the Gospel.

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for Michigan – (V, The Episcopal Church) The Rt Revd Wendell Gibbs; Milwaukee – (V, The Episcopal Church) The Rt Revd Steven Miller; Minna – (Lokoja, Nigeria) The Rt Revd Daniel Abu Yisa

We pray for our friends in Christ in the Church of Sweden; Church of the Faroe Islands; Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church

for an increase in prison ministry volunteers; the Christians whose homes burned in Pakistan; Sharon A. (discernment in getting into a ministry)

Holy God, the effects of sin are all around us. Let your healing grace and mercy reach out to all those in need. Restore everything that is broken in our lives to wholeness.

We pray for the people of Mauritius; Mexico; Micronesia and for an increase in the mission of the Church there.

Prayers are also offered for Joyce’s neice; Raul Flores’ family (salvation, jobs, a spouse for Raul, freedom from drugs); Robert (bullying victim); Sheela H.’s sister (homeless, on drugs); Joyce’s great-neice (abuse); Pastor Kent Ingram

Let those who are sick, suffering or in any need know of your healing power in their difficulty.

(complications after esophagul surgery a year ago); Rexxine (cancer); Dianne T.’s (carrying triplets); Kim (breast cancer)

Let the faithful departed rest in peace, especially Jen Sturdivant, bring a knowledge and assurance of your love to those who mourn, especially Chris, Alex and William Sturdivant, the woman who lost her baby and keep all of us who pray in everlasting life.

We also pray for Zeus’ owners (the dog who jumped out a window has died)

We also praise you for the blessings in our lives, that we and the whole Church may eagerly look forward to rejoicing at Resurrection Day.

Joanne Clark (recovering)

Eternal Lord God, you hold all souls in life: Give to your whole Church in paradise and on earth your light and your peace; and grant that we, following the good examples of those who have served you here and are now at rest, may at the last enter with them into your unending joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. (Book of Common Prayer 1979)
