Let’s give thanks:

For all the blessings God has given to us

Saint Luke the Evangelist

Henry Martyn, Priest and Missionary to India and Persia, 1812; also William Carey, Missionary to India, 1834

Almighty God, who inspired your servant Luke the physician to set forth in the Gospel the love and healing power of your Son: Graciously continue in your Church this love and power to heal, to the praise and glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Almighty and everlasting God, we thank you for your servants Henry and William, whom you called to preach the Gospel to the people of India and Persia. Raise up in this and every land evangelists and heralds of your kingdom, that your Church may proclaim the unsearchable riches of our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

The prayers are from The Book of Common Prayer.
